Updates: New mobile app, Videos and preview links in Documents and more

You asked for it — we did it. Managing tasks and coordinating teams with just a phone at your fingertips has become easier and much more convenient

Find the app in the AppStore and GooglePlay.

To help you make the most of Kaiten, we’ve come up with Lists, a new Boards display.

When you open the app, your boards will automatically appear in list format. If you had a board with many tracks in it, when you switch to list view, they will be converted to labels on the card. So, for example, if you had a board with tracks: urgent, standard and by date, the corresponding label will appear on the front of the card. Columns can be collapsed.

In addition to lists, the familiar Boards, Table, Timeline, Archive, and Reports are available:

The app is smart and will be a real replacement for the web version of Kaiten: there are User Story Maps and Documents

Progressive Web App

Install the PWA app on your computer or phone if you don’t have access to the AppStore or GooglePlay or your company has Kaiten installed on its own servers. It is important to note that the application is installed from the company account. I.e. there will be two different applications for company1.kaiten.io and company2.kaiten.io.

When you open the web version from your mobile device, you will be prompted to automatically install the app.

You can find more detailed instructions on how to install PWA here.

Soon, in future releases, push notifications will be added.

Videos and preview links in Documents

Embed video from Youtube, Vimeo, Loom, and other video hosting into your documents. Display links to Google Docs, Sheets and thumbnails in Figma as previews

Ability to specify additional emails for notifications on Service Desk requests

Now when creating a request via mail, notifications of changes in status will come to the email addresses specified in the “To” and “Cc” fields. However, you can now add or edit recipients from the application itself.

In the Create Space dialog box, offer to add this space to groups with administrator, editor, read-only

Groups are indispensable when you want to add more than one person to a space. They will save a lot of time in organizing access rights.

Now when creating a new space, users having access to the “Members” section, see a dialog box asking them to add that space into groups with different permissions.

You can add groups, that will be suggested when creating a new space in the “Members >> Groups“ section. There you can define the rights that will be offered when you add a new space to a group.

Previously, in order to add a new space to groups, you had to configure it for each individual user group, and if several spaces were created, the task became very cumbersome. Now it is done in a couple of clicks.

Small updates

Also, now external users that are not registered in Kaiten can enter the Service Desk interface via Google account without wasting time on registration.
