Card sorting, push notifications in the mobile app and other Kaiten updates in March

Flowers bloom in spring and Kaiten has helpful updates

What’s new in Kaiten:

  1. Sorting cards in a column.
  2. Notifications: detailed notification settings, subscription to notifications from space and column, push notifications in the mobile app.
  3. “Service desk” module: statistics and graphs, translation into Spanish and German.
  4. Better integration with GitHub.
  5. Comments in the public card.

Sorting cards in a column

New feature in Kaiten: sorting cards in a column by size, creation date, deadline or content of custom fields.

How to sort cards

Click on the three dots next to the column name, select “Manage Cards”, then “Sort Cards”.

Detailed notification settings

It often happens that you receive a notification, but do not know why it came to you. Now you choose where and in what cases the system will send you messages. Customize your settings for notifications in mail, Telegram, Slack, mobile app and inside Kaiten.

How to set up🔧

Open the menu (three bars in the upper left corner), go to the “Profile” section and then “ Notifications settings”. Add checkboxes next to the notifications you want.

Push notifications in the mobile app

We have enabled push notifications in mobile applications! In the profile in the “Notification settings” section, you can configure what types of notifications should be sent to your phone or tablet.

How to set up🔧

Go to the menu (three bars in the upper left corner of Kaiten), select “Profile”, then “Notification settings”.

Do not forget to update the application and give permission to receive notifications in the settings of your smartphone.

Subscribing to notifications from spaces and columns

Now in your profile settings you can

  1. check which columns and spaces you are subscribed to,
  2. add or remove subscription to spaces and columns,
  3. select events that you should be notified of.

How to set up🔧

Go to the menu (three bars in the upper left corner) → Profile → Notifications settings → Subscriptions to spaces.

Statistics in the “Service desk” module

Added statistics to the “Service desk” module so that you know how efficiently you are working with customer requests.

In a new section, the graphs display,

  1. how many applications were there in a certain period,
  2. distribution of requests by services,
  3. how many requests were completed by a specific employee,
  4. average lead time for one request.

How to set up🔧

To see statistics, open the menu (three bars in the upper left corner), select the “Service desk” section, and then “Statistics”.

Spanish and German in the “Service desk” module

We have translated the module interface, all notification letters and Telegram bot. The update will come in handy for those who work with foreign customers.

How to set up🔧

Open the menu (three stripes in the upper left corner), select the section “Service desk”, then “Services”. Click on the service for which you want to change the language. Change the language in the window that opens.

New features for Kaiten integration with GitHub

Added new functions for working with GitHub:

  1. creating multiple integrations for one GitHub repository;
  2. adding a name for each integration to distinguish between integrations for the same repository;
  3. limiting the application of integration events to a specific space in Kaiten.

How to set up🔧

Open the space settings (the gear icon to the right of the workspace name), select “Space settings” and go to the GitHub section.

Comments in a public card

Any card in Kaiten can be publicly accessed and shared, including comments. You decide which fields of the card to open for public viewing.

How to set up🔧

Open the card, click on the “Share” icon, then “Share to the web”

In the window that appears, check the box next to the “Comments” box and copy the link for public access.

These were all the updates we made in March. Thank you for being with us.
